I got to live out every seven year old’s dream last week and eat as much ice cream as I could in one day. Let’s see if I learned anything.

For those who don’t know, Jay-Z was recently the first hip hop act to headline the famous Glastonbury music festival in Britain. After it was announced, Noell Gallagher of the band, Oasis, expressed outrage:

“If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. If you start to break it then people aren’t going to go. I’m sorry, but Jay-Z? No chance. Glastonbury has a tradition of guitar music and even when they throw the odd curve ball in on a Sunday night you go ‘Kylie Minogue?’ I don’t know about it. But I’m not having hip-hop at Glastonbury. It’s wrong.

Jay-Z responded by taking the stage with a guitar and played Oasis’s song, “Wonderwall”, which can be seen here.

Slick moves, Jay. Marcy all day!

Move Over, Judd Apatow. There’s a new crew of hilarious, insecure teenagers with a TV show

Are you thirsty for a another kickass video to be addicted to on the internet? How about 9? My homeboys over at Skidmore have created an internet TV show called College is Hard and it is downright hilarious. Great acting, brilliant writing, and immature, childish humor, it’s got it all. It’s like Freaks and Geeks: The College Years. They have already come out with one season of three 3-part episodes and they are preparing for their second season while shamelessly advertising to the general public. Figured I’d help out. Much respect to these guys. Check out the part one of the pilot episode here:

I have probably read about five books for pleasure in the past 10 years. Three of them are George Carlin books.  Here’s to the man that kept us honest and forced us to question everything.

Accidentally Historical

It seems that when Nick and I got our picture taken before going out a Nerd theme party a couple weeks ago, we were unknowingly recreating the moment the Japanese emeperor Hirohito surrendered to General Macarthur and the Allied forces at the end of World War II. Apparently, when we try to dress up like nerds, I end up looking at a military high commander, and Nick ends up looking like a cowering Japanese person. I wonder if Macarthur and Hirohito were going to a nerd party that night too…
