New York is filled with people that wish they were superstars. Few people actually do the work. For fewer people, the work actually starts to kinda pay off. Emilio Rojas is one of those people.
He is one of the few MC’s in New York with talent that is actually making some noise, and for good reason. He’s built up a gang of support for his wit and lyricism.
I was lucky enough to run into him at the last ever hip hop how at the Knitting Factory last week, which is funny in itself because I had just heard about him only a few days before, and here I am rubbing shoulders with some of the most prominent almost mid-level artists in NYC! I must be dreaming! Check out this video of him performing one of his best tracks, “Bailout Money”, the clever “Arab Money” remix:
Check out his website here. You may notice that, like me, he tends to make the same face in about every photograph. PAYCE!
